Soils with minimal development, usually shallow on hard or weathering rock, with or without intermittent diverse soils. Clay loam soils.

Viticulture

There is an on-going debate between the quality of grapes produced from bush-vine vineyards in comparison to trellised vines. We've found that for such an old vineyard, love and care was taken to preserve the beauty of the basket shape of the bushvine. The formation of the candles displays the quality of hand-pruning, and places emphasis on good quality viticultural practices. The hard-work that goes into preserving such an old bushvine block can be tasted in the great quality grapes it produces.
